Viognier

Talon Viognier Talon Viognier $15.00

From the winemaking family of Ravenswood in CA comes this rich and aromatic dry wine. Subtle tropical notes of pineapple and stone fruit show on the nose. Its full-bodied flavor is balanced nicely with hints of citrus and starfruit. Enjoy it chilled with chicken, seafood or by itself.!

Mythic Chard Viognier Mythic Chard Viognier $19.00

A very remarkable blend. The chard brings body and acid while the viognier brings its magical aromatics. A bit of French oak shows through as well. Its Condrieu meeting white Burgundy and somehow it's everything in one bottle, soft floral, buttery oak, zesty acidity, good body. Enjoy this one because I doubt I will ever find another like it!

La Champine La Champine $21.00

Condrieu is one of those wines that can break your heart and your wallet forever. Unlike any other white wine, Viognier in the Northern Rhone takes on magical ethereal yet contradictory character. Tastes acidic but it isn't, seems like it should be better with age but it dies quickly, fleshy weighty body but so delicate, and on we go. Viognier from the US tends to have the character of canned pear juice, and even Southern Rhone versions lack much depth. But it turns out surrounding Grillet and Condrieu is the Collines Rhondaniennes where Viognier can now be had at a fraction of the price as its famous neighbors. No its not Condrieu but its close enough to still break your heart while leaving your wallet intact.

Sainte Rose Roussane Sainte Rose Roussane $27.00

I've always wanted to see how the big bodied Rhone white varietals would show done in a New World style and finally found one! French oak fermentation and ageing on the lees brings gorgeous body reminiscent of the best oaky CA Chards. Bright peach and honeysuckle flavors wrapped in a foundation of clean acidity and almost oily viscosity. Simply gorgeous.
