Cote de Nuits

Jacques Girardin Santenay Beauregard 1er cru 375 Jacques Girardin Santenay Beauregard 1er cru 375 $24.00

A sexy, seductive Pinot Noir with a knockout bouquet of rose petal, violet and Asian spices, this Premier Cru from Jacques Girardin is nothing short of enthralling. It comes across as delicate, yet complex, a libation fit for discerning company. Elegance and breed characterize this special wine that is both refined and oozing with flavor. Fresh juicy strawberry and hauntingly beautiful forest floor flavors fill the mouth and imbue the palate with pure pleasure. This sensual red starts out beautiful and ends up drop dead gorgeous with a soft, satisfying glow.

Maltroye Chassagne Montrachet Maltroye Chassagne Montrachet $58.00

Gorgeous, quintessential white Burgundy. When you love Chard, this is its original home and possibly its finest example. Perfect crisp tropical notes, balances with white peach and soft buttery oak as a supporting player, not dominant. Finishes for a long time but never long enough.

Grantet-Pansiot Gevrey-Chambertin 2011 Grantet-Pansiot Gevrey-Chambertin 2011 $59.00

From one of the most famous Burgundy appellations. One of my favorite wine quotes goes " I can't remember the place, and I can't remember the girl.... but the wine was Chambertin." Dark ripe nose of berry still surrounded with pungent Gevrey earth tones. Powerful now, give it a few years to show off its subtleties.

Orchard Wine Cellar Movers and Shakers This Week

  • Laya

    #1 Laya

From Castilla-La Mancha in Central Spain, a unique blend made with the Garnacha Tintorera grape. Not only is the skin red, but so is the flesh. This provides a sturdy structure and noticeable tannins. Aged only 4 months in oak, this wine has luscious red and black fruits with hints of spice. Definitely one you should try, especially at this price!
    (Holding the #1 spot)

  • Tintero Moscato

    #2 Tintero Moscato

Sori Gramella refers to the one of the only single vineyard Moscatos, and Marco is the only producer to bottle this striking limestone amphitheater commercially. Once the 30 year old vines give up their bounty, and the grapes are harvested and pressed, they are kept in stainless steel at a low temperature to prevent fermentation until an order is received in order to provide the freshest wine possible. • Volunteer Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

#3 Volunteer Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

The Volunteer is a medium density Cabernet, with hints of cherry, cranberry, toasted vanilla and subtle tannins. Juicy with a little smoke and oak. Named for the wine maker who is a volunteer Fire Fighter in Napa Valley. tied

  • Terrapura Carmenere

    #4 Terrapura Carmenere

Lovely soft green pepper nose with mineral and an herbal touch blended with tobacco and flowers. Black fruits and dried figs on the nose combine with soft and juicy tannins and concentrated fresh fruit flavors. Fire up the BBQ and grill some steaks or Portobello mushrooms to eat alongside a glass. It would be great with Mexican food as well with its subtle spice notes. (behind by 1 bottles)
