Ripe cherries and strawberries from the Garnacha, riper cherries from the Tempranillo, and black pepper from the Garnacha, the Syrah and the Cabernet, along with Cab’s herbal, cedar aromas. There’s lots of barrel-derived spice and vanilla to create a framework for the wine.

Ludovicus, a mineral, spicy Mediterranean red, will surprise you. The wine is made from organically grown grapes in Terra Alta, a high-elevation region located south of Barcelona. "Ludovicus" refers to a Roman soldier who planted vineyards in this area; hence, the grape growing tradition in Terra Alta began with the Romans. DO Terra Alta has the ability to ripen a variety of grapes; so this blend of Garnacha, Tempranillo, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon shows ripe expressions of each of those varieties.
